'The Dreaming had begun....'
Hello. Can’t seem to remember how you got here? Perhaps you wandered off the main road? Saw this place glinting at you from behind the trees? Thought: I’ll just pop up to that strange-looking house and ask directions… Well, you are most welcome. Me? Oh, I’m the caretaker here. I’ve always been the caretaker…
Welcome to my webpage! In the coming weeks I’ll be adding blogs, news and articles and providing a commentary on the remaining weeks leading up to the publication of my first horror novel, ‘Through A Glass, Darkly’ – and those hectic few weeks thereafter! In the meantime, please take a look around and let me know what you think. There’s a bit of whimsy and heart-on-sleeve stuff in the Biog section as well as the current blurb for the book in the TAGD area.
‘Through A Glass, Darkly’ will be hitting bookshops on 10th July 2008 and can be preordered now from online stores (a link to Amazon will be appearing here shortly). If you like Stephen King, HP Lovecraft, Dennis Wheatley and MR James – all bound together with a killer twist – then this could be right up your Rue Morgue!
‘Through A Glass, Darkly’ is published by the good people at Beautiful Books under their Bloody Books imprint – check out their other titles at www.beautiful-books.co.uk – particularly Joseph D’Lacey’s powerful debut ‘Meat’ (it both rocks and shocks!) and their wonderful collections of macabre short stories – Read by Dawn I & II – showcasing the best of new horror writing.
I’m currently busy finishing off the final(ish) edit/draft of my second horror novel – titled, tentatively, ‘The Absence’ – and will be blogging about its progress in the near future. Until then, many thanks for dropping by – I hope to see you back here again very soon…
I’m sorry? You can’t get out? Ah, well, abide here a little longer then. As Detective Inspector Jack Trent might say: The Dreaming will release you in its own good time…
The Caretaker is currently:
Reading: ‘Bad Men’ by John Connolly, ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ by Khaled Hosseini and ‘Demon’ by Peter Mark May
Listening to: ‘Scouting for Girls’ by Scouting for Girls
Watching: ‘Heroes: Season 2’ (Disappointing) ‘Age of Terror’ (Excellent)
